Building Services
Building permits are required to protect the interests of both individuals and the community as a whole. By reviewing and approving building plans before any work is done, and by carrying out inspections during construction, staff ensure that all work complies with:
- The Ontario Building Code
- The Township’s Zoning Bylaw
- Other applicable legislation, including Conservation Authority approvals and requirements under the Environmental Protection Act
Building Services are responsible for:
- Reviewing building permit applications
- Issuing permits
- Conducting inspections
- Ensuring compliance with applicable regulations

Planning Services
Planning helps determine where homes, businesses, and industries should be located within the Township. It also guides the development of parks, roads, infrastructure, and other essential services.
The Planning function is responsible for ensuring that current and future land use aligns with municipal policies and provincial regulations.
Good planning balances the interests of property owners with the needs of the broader community.
