Candidate’s Package

The following forms must be completed by the candidate.

• Nomination Package
• Use of Corporate Resources for Election Purposes Policy ADMIN2018-01

These forms plus the applicable fee (Mayor: $200, all other offices: $100) must be filed in person or by an agent with the Clerk during regular office hours at the municipal office at 1 Mississauga Drive, between May 1, 2026 and August 20, 2026 (Monday – Thursday 9:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m., and Friday, 9:00 a.m. – 2:00 p.m.) and on Nomination Day, August 21, 2026 (9:00 a.m. – 2:00 p.m.).

Proof of identification, residency or property ownership will also be required at time of filing.

Packages are also available at the municipal office.

Please note: Candidates in the Township of Manitouwadge are not required to be endorsed by 25 signatures, per the Municipal Elections Act, 1996, Ontario Regulation 101/97, Section 1

2026 Voters’ Guide for Ontario Municipal Council and School Board Elections

When and how can I make changes to my information on the Voters’ List? Before you exercise your right to vote, your name must be on the Voters’ List. How do you check? It’s Easy – Check the List at the office of the Clerk or visit RegisterToVoteON.ca!

Please assist us by ensuring that you are on the Voters’ List long before October 26, 2026!

This will ensure you receive your mail Voter Information Letter in time for advanced voting and will alleviate any long delays for you on voting day.

Online:

If you are a resident, owner or tenant of property in Ontario, a Canadian citizen and 18 years of age you can vote in Ontario’s municipal and school board elections.  We all play a role in ensuring a fair electoral system, and it is the responsibility of every elector to make sure their information is up-to-date and accurately reflected for electoral purposes. By logging into RegisterToVoteON.ca, eligible electors can:

• confirm or update their electoral information
• add an elector name to an address
• change school support

In-Person:

A person may make an application on the appropriate form, to the Clerk, requesting,

a) That a person’s name be added or removed from the Voters’ List; or
b) That information on the Voters’ List relating to the person be amended.

If your application is complete and the Clerk is satisfied that you are entitled to be an elector for the 2026 Municipal and School Board Elections, the Clerk will endorse your application and return a copy of your application to you.

Your application will be refused if you fail to meet the eligibility criteria as an eligible elector.A person is entitled to vote in a municipal election if on Voting Day (October 26, 2026):

• Is a Canadian citizen
• Is at least 18 years old
• Resides in the local municipality, or is the owner or tenant of land in the local municipality, or the spouse of such a person; and
• Is not prohibited from voting under Section 17(3) of the Municipal Elections Act, 1996 or otherwise by law.

Please bring identification that shows your name and current address. Proof of identity and residence is mandatory as prescribed in O.Reg. 304/13.
