Garbage and Recycling

The Township provides comprehensive waste management services for residents and businesses, including garbage collection, recycling programs, landfill access, and electronic waste management.

Garbage Collection

Residential Garbage and Recycling

  • Collection Day: Mondays
  • Set-Out Time: Place items curbside after 5:00 a.m. and before 8:00 a.m.
  • Ensure garbage is securely bagged and recycling is properly sorted.

Garbage Dumpsters

  • Dumpster Collection Day: Fridays

Recycling Program

Residential recycling is collected weekly. Waste is transported to the municipal landfill site located 7 km east on Caramat Road at Rudder Creek.

Municipal Landfill Site

Landfill Hours – Summer Hours Effective June 1

Tuesdays and Thursdays- 10:00am – 2:00pm
Saturdays – 9:00am – 3:30pm 

Landfill Hours – Winter Hours Effective November 1

Wednesdays – 10:00am – 2:00pm
Saturdays – 9:00am – 3:30pm 

Punch Card Requirement

All persons entering the landfill must present a valid Landfill Site Punch Card, available at:

  • The Municipal Office
  • NAPA
  • 2 Doors Down

Illegal dumping outside the landfill gate is prohibited and offenders will be prosecuted.

Waste Electronic Equipment 

On October 1, 2020 The Township of Manitouwadge partnered with Electronic Products Recycling Association (EPRA) to safely manage the electronic waste in an environmentally sustainable manner.

Drop-Off Location

Manitouwadge Public Works Yard 11 Sault Road Hours: 8:00 a.m. – 4:30 p.m.

A Public Works employee will direct you to the designated WEE area.
