Construction Projects

The Township is moving forward with the Manitou Road Reconstruction Project — a major infrastructure investment focused on road safety, accessibility, and underground servicing improvements.

Project Includes

• Repaving of Manitou Road from the Adjala Road intersection to the Recreation Centre
• New sidewalk installation
• Storm, sewer, and water infrastructure upgrades

The project has been awarded to Villeneuve Construction, with work expected to continue through Fall 2026.

What Residents Can Expect

• Temporary traffic delays and lane reductions
• Possible driveway access interruptions with advance notice provided
• Daytime construction noise
• Possible short scheduled water or sewer service interruptions
• Easement access behind some properties for underground infrastructure work

The Township appreciates residents’ patience and cooperation as these important community improvement projects move forward.

The Township is pleased to announce that RML Contracting has been awarded the contract for upgrades to both the front entrance and rear arena entrance at the Manitouwadge Recreation Centre.

These upgrades will improve accessibility while helping create a cleaner, safer, and more welcoming environment for residents, visitors, and user groups who use the facility throughout the year.

Planned improvements include:

• Front entrance upgrades
• Rear arena entrance upgrades
• Accessibility enhancements
• General modernization improvements

RML Contracting has also been awarded the contract for improvements to the Township’s Public Works Building.

Planned upgrades include:

• Updated HVAC systems
• Renovated washrooms and locker areas
• Energy-efficient lighting upgrades

These improvements will help modernize the facility while improving comfort, efficiency, and working conditions for staff.
