The Township of Manitouwadge is providing notice that Council adopted Official Plan Amendment By-law 2026-26 and passed Zoning By-law 2026-27 on August 13, 2026, regarding the property located at 7 Sault Road.
The attached notice outlines the purpose and effect of the amendments, provides information on the statutory public consultation process, and explains appeal rights to the Ontario Land Tribunal (OLT). The notice also includes important deadlines, eligibility requirements for appeals, and contact information for obtaining additional information.

Notice Of Passing Site Specific Offical Plan And Zoning Amendment 7 Sault Road
The Clerk of the Township of Manitouwadge hereby advises that Council has entered a Lame Duck Council period pursuant to Section 275 of the Municipal Act, 2001, as it has been determined that fewer than three-quarters of the members of the current Council are eligible to be re-elected to the next term of Council.
Under Section 275 of the Municipal Act, 2001, a council is deemed to be in a Lame Duck position:
Accordingly, the restrictions set out in Section 275(3) of the Municipal Act, 2001 are now in effect. During the Lame Duck period, Council shall not:
Prior to the commencement of the Lame Duck period, Council adopted Bylaw No. 2026-17, which delegates certain authority to the Chief Administrative Officer. Pursuant to Section 275(6) of the Municipal Act, 2001, these delegated powers remain in effect during the Lame Duck period and may continue to be exercised in accordance with the provisions of the bylaw. In accordance with Bylaw No. 2026-17, the Chief Administrative Officer shall report to Council on any actions taken under the restrictions listed in Section 275(3) of the Municipal Act, 2001 between Nomination Day and the commencement of the new Council term.

The Township of Manitouwadge is accepting additional nominations for the office of Superior North Catholic District School Board Trustee as the number of candidates nominated was insufficient to fill the available position.

There is one (1) Trustee position available.
Nomination forms and information regarding the nomination process are available from the Clerk's Office. All nominations must comply with the requirements of the Municipal Elections Act, 1996.
