The Township of Manitouwadge would like to inform residents that beginning May 24th, GFL Environmental will begin delivering new garbage and recycling carts to households throughout the community. Deliveries will take place directly to each residence starting May 24th. A copy of this notice will also be placed in everyone’s mailbox. Residents do not need to be home for delivery; carts will be placed at the end of each driveway. If you do not receive your carts by Friday, May 29th, or if they arrive damaged, please contact GFL Environmental at 807 577 0411.
The new program will include:
• A blue cart designated for household garbage
• A split-compartment recycling cart, allowing residents to separate recyclable materials within the same cart
These carts are being supplied at no cost to either the Municipality or homeowners.
Residents who already have tipper carts may continue to use them; however, they will also receive the new garbage and recycling carts as part of the program rollout.
Once all residents have received their new carts, GFL Environmental will only collect waste and recycling from tipper-style carts. This change is being implemented to improve driver safety and create a more efficient collection process.
