The Township of Manitouwadge has seen a spike in frozen water lines due to the recent cold temperatures. To help prevent disruptions to your water service, we strongly recommend running a bleeder line until further notice.
🔹 What to do: Keep a small, steady stream of water running from a tap in your home (about the width of a pencil).
🔹 Why? Running water helps prevent pipes from freezing, reducing the risk of costly damage and service interruptions.
🔹 When to stop? We will provide an update when it is safe to turn off your bleeder line.
BUT IF THEY DO FREEZE…
🔹Stop water service into the house with the main water shut-off valve.
🔹Contact a license plumber.
🔹Never use hot water, a torch, or open flame to thaw a frozen pipe or meter.
Thank you for your cooperation in helping to keep our community’s water system running smoothly!
