Cross Country Skiing
Northern Tails Ski Club is a registered not-for-profit that encourages and promotes cross country skiing in Manitouwadge. A group of local volunteers maintains the cross country ski trail network and offers recreational and special events during the season.
Whether you seek beginner, intermediate or difficult trails, Northern Trails Ski Club offers two separate trail systems:
The Clubhouse Trails provides centrally located, groomed trails for both skating and classic techniques.
The Kiwissa Trails are groomed for classic technique. These trails wander through the boreal forest and boast old growth cedars, lake views and a lookout over Manitouwadge at the highest point.
Services:
Clubhouse: The Clubhouse is located adjacent to the golf course. Open Saturday and Sunday from 1 PM – 3 PM. The perfect place to warm up and grab a hot chocolate. This is where you can access rentals and pay for trail pass fees.
Rentals: Cross-country ski and snow shoe rentals available for children and adults. Available for day, week or seasonal use.
Wax: Members can access the wax table.
Special events: Events are offered through the season.
