Welcome to the Manitouwadge Hiking Trails System- your gateway to exploring a variety of trails in and around the community. Whether you’re planning a casual stroll or an adventurous trek, this is the place to discover routes that suit every pace and interest.

Stay Updated
Our trails system continues to grow. Check back regularly for new additions, seasonal updates, and special features. 

Trails Safety Reminder
Trails may include uneven, rocky or rough terrain. Sturdy footwear and plenty of water are highly recommended to ensure a safe and enjoyable experience. 

Back Nine Trails System
The Back Nine Trail System winds through a diverse and ever-changing landscape. Venture through dense cedar groves surrounding Tickle Lake, pass moss-covered rock faces, and stroll through gently rolling stretches of birch and poplar forest. 

Birdwatching at Tickle Lake
Tickle Lake is a prime destination for birdwatching. The trail features several open areas that provide perfect vantage points to pause and observe local bird species in their natural habitat. 

Trail Advisory
Please note that sections at lower elevations may be susceptible to flooding during periods of heavy rain. We recommend checking trail conditions before setting out. 

Manitouwadge/Enns’ Lookout Trail System
Explore one of the region’s most scenic and elevated trails systems, featuring two breathtaking lookout points with panoramic views of Manitouwadge and the surrounding wilderness.

From leisurely slopes to steep climbs, the Manitouwadge/Enns’ Lookout Trail System offers a range of routes to suit all hikers. Whichever path you take, you’ll be treated to breathtaking views at the summit-an unforgettable reward for your effort. 

Superior Picnic Program
Make the most of your hike by grabbing lunch from one of the Superior Picnic Program locations. There’s a picnic table at the top-perfect for refueling while soaking in the view.

Redwing Trail System
A cherished local gem, the Redwing Trail System offers picturesque routes for hiking and snowshoeing, welcoming adventurers of all skill levels. As you explore, keep an eye out for remnants of childhood forts tucked among the trees- built by imaginative locals in years past.  

Nature by Perry Lake
Follow the trails alongside Perry Lake for a tranquil walk where you might spot wildlife native to the shoreline. It’s peaceful escape into nature that invites you to slow down and savor the surroundings. 

A Legacy of Stewardship 
The trail was developed by the Manitouwadge chapter of Ducks Unlimited Canada and named in honour of Grant Perry- an avid outdoorsman and devoted committee member whose passion helped bring this system to life.
