The residents of Manitouwadge had been avid supporters of Ducks Unlimited Canada. The local committee wanted to give something back to the community. Thus the idea of a walking trail was born.
In the interest of education, Lake A, renamed Perry Lake, was chosen as a site due to the short distance to the primary schools. The trail is named the Perry Lake Trail in memory of Grant Perry, an outdoor enthusiast and long-time Ducks Unlimited committee member.
Take nothing but pictures. Leave nothing by footprints.
While on the trail, stop at the viewing mounds that provide information stations to learn more about the wetlands and wildlife that call Perry Lake home, or stop and have a rest on one of the benches provided for respite. There are also nesting boxes, a blind and a bat house or two along the trail.
You never know what you may see!
