Municipal Land Fill Site – Hours and Rates

Municipal Landfill Site – Punch Cards*
Effective March 3, 2014 all persons entering the Landfill Site shall produce and show the Landfill attendant a valid “LANDFILL SITE PUNCH CARD” available for purchase at the Municipal Office 2-Doors Down and NAPA.

Please be advised that all Microwaves are to be disposed of at the end of Sault Road at the J&J Equipment Rentals Scrap Metal yard.

Waste Electronic Equipment

On October 1, 2020 The Township of Manitouwadge partnered with Electronic Products Recycling Association (EPRA) to safely manage the electronic waste in an environmentally sustainable manner.

WHERE DO I TAKE THEM?

You can bring your used electronics to the Manitouwadge Public Works Yard at 11 Sault Road during the regular operating hours; 8:00AM – 4:30PM. A Public Works Employee will direct you to the designated area for Waste Electronic Equipment (WEE). From there these items will either be reused or recycled in an environmentally responsible way.

Waste Water Works

March 4, 2020 – Thunder Bay District Health Unit

Sampling of this drinking water supply has revealed the presence of sodium at a concentration of 42.2 parts per million. The aesthetic objective for sodium is 200 parts per million, however sodium at concentrations above 20 parts per million may be a concern to those on sodium restricted diets.

Those individuals on a sodium restricted diet are encouraged to seek an alternate approved source of drinking water.

Drinking Water Advisory Notice

All persons consuming water from the Manitouwadge Drinking Water System

Please be advised that recent water samples have shown sodium levels to exceed 20 mg/l. This is a concern for people who are on a sodium restricted diet.

Please ensure that an alternative source of drinking water such as bottled water is available for those who are required to limit their sodium intake.

This advisory will remain in effect until test results indicate that sodium concentration levels fall below 20 mg/l.

The Public Works Department maintains 27 km of roads and 5 km of sidewalks for the Corporation. The Public Works Department also maintains four downtown Municipal parking areas and municipal properties.
