NOTICE of SPECIAL MEETING OF COUNCIL to formalize the creation of a new Official Plan (followed by a new Comprehensive Zoning By-Law)

In accordance with Section 26 (and 17) of the Planning Act, Council will be holding a Special Meeting of Council, open to the public to discuss revisions that may be required to the current (1986) Official Plan.
An Official Plan must conform with the Growth Plan for Northern Ontario, or not conflict; have regard to matters of Provincial Interest listed in Section 2 of the Planning Act; and be consistent with the Provincial Policy Statement issued under Section 3 of the Planning Act.
Council shall have regard to any written submissions about what revisions may be required and shall give any person who attends the special meeting an opportunity to be heard on that subject.
Opportunity to provide input to the Official Plan will be continuous through November & December, 2021; and again in Spring 2022 once a draft is ready for review.
