QUALIFICATIONS:

• Current Red Cross and Royal Life Instructors Certification
• Current Lifesaving Society Instructor qualifications
• Current National Lifeguard Certification
• CPR and First Aid Certification
• Minimum age of 18
• Should have previous supervisory experience
• Should be familiar with pool maintenance

 

EMPLOYMENT TERM:  June-August

 

DAYS PER WEEK:  Monday-Sunday (approximately 40hrs/week at $19.50)

 

GENERAL ACCOUNTABILITY:  Community Programmer

 

DUTIES:
• Is responsible for the planning, implementation, advertising and evaluation of pool programs including instructional and recreation swimming programs and special events in coordination with the Community Programmer
• The supervision, training, scheduling, disciplining and evaluation of the staff
• Office administration (maintaining records, registrations, daily reports, accident reports)
• Work with community associations in the development of special aquatic programs
• Is responsible for maintaining a good image for the facility, for maintaining good public relations and to promote aquatics in Manitouwadge
• Inspect and assign staff duties required to maintain cleanliness of pool
• Required to wear proper aquatic uniform while on duty
• Required to instruct and guard
• Establish thorough emergency procedures
• Is responsible to see that the highest standards of health and safety are observed according to the Ontario Ministry of Health/Thunder Bay District Health Unit
• Other duties as assigned by the Community Programmer
