MONDAY OCTOBER 4 TO FRIDAY OCTOBER 8
Please be advised that the Township’s contractor Ontario Clean Water Agency (OCWA), will be swabbing the watermains in your area starting Monday October 4 and continuing until Friday October 8, 2021. This is preventative maintenance to remove any sediment that has built up inside the watermain and to inspect for areas of potential concern if any.
Residents are being forewarned not to use your water while swabbing is in progress. It is important to remember that if you use your water during the swabbing process and experience plumbing issues, the potential costs are at the homeowner’s expense. To help reduce this chance, you must turn off your water supply where it enters your home (if possible).
It is also strongly recommended to:
- stock up on drinking water
- keep a supply of water handy to allow for the flushing of toilets
- turn off the power to your hot water tank
After the swabbing program has been completed in your area, the water may be turned back on and flushed through the first cold water tap in your system (remember to remove the aerator from this faucet while flushing).
WATER DISRUPTION WILL BE DURING THE FOLLOWING TIMES
10:00 PM, Monday, October 4th, 2021 until 6:00 AM on October 5th, 2021
10:00 PM, Tuesday, October 5th, 2021 until 6:00 AM on October 6th, 2021
10:00 PM, Wednesday, October 6th, 2021 until 6:00 AM on October 7th, 2021
10:00 PM, Thursday, October 7th, 2021 until 6:00 AM on October 8th, 2021
We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause. If you have any questions or require further information, please do not hesitate to contact the Public Works Department at (807) 826-3227 ext. 230.
Please note that work will only occur if weather permits. Should inclement weather cause a delay, the swabbing will be rescheduled for the following business day.
