Permanent Full-Time Chief Nursing Officer/Director of Clinical Services

Santé Manitouwadge Health (SMH), is an integrated  Hospital/LTC/FHT/Physician Clinic found in Northwestern Ontario servicing approximately 2,000 people. We have 9 acute care beds, 1 hospice bed, 9 long-term care beds, and a 24/7 emergency department. Our services include laboratory, diagnostic imaging and physiotherapy. This position will report to the Chief Executive Officer.

• Registered Nurse with current registration in good standing with the College of Nurses of Ontario
• Minimum of 5 years of nursing experience
• Minimum of 3 years in a management role
• Leadership training, demonstrated ability
• Knowledge of current legislation affecting hospitals and the Public Hospitals Act
• Knowledge of current legislation affecting Long-Term Care Homes
• Knowledge of working in unionized workplace and collective agreements
• Ability to work independently as well as with others internally and externally
• Strong interpersonal skills

• Direct and coordinate the functions of the various patient/resident/client care areas by planning, developing, recommending and implementing policies and procedures that are aligned to the provision of quality patient/resident/client care
• Attends and participates at the Medical Advisory Committee and the Pharmacy and Therapeutics Committee meetings, Senior Management Meetings, Accreditation process, Infection Control Committee, Quality Assurance/Risk Mitigation Committee, Contingency Committee, Regional Nurse Executive Meetings, and any others that may arise relating to the role
• Ensure use of equipment, supplies, and other hospital resources and community agencies are optimized to maximize the quality of patient/resident/client care
• Plan and assist with staff education
• Ensure yearly performance appraisals of the Nurse Manager, and Clinical Charge Personnel
• Update policies and procedures and ensure that they have been reviewed by staff
• Remain current with MOHLTC changes as they relate to SMH
• Lobby and submit for special funding projects as related to the departments being overseen
• Remain fiscally responsible, participate in budgeting, forecasting, and procurement
• Oversee operational duties of Laboratory, Diagnostic Imaging, Physiotherapy services, and OTN
• Regular attendance is required, must be available to take administrative on-call responsibilities

Compensation: $110K – $128K, benefits, relocation assistance

Hours of Work: Monday to Friday 35 hrs/week
