How do I appoint someone to vote on my behalf?
If you are unable to attend at a Voting Place, you may appoint someone to act as your proxy. This allows you to appoint another eligible elector to attend at the Voting Place and vote on your behalf.
Please contact the Clerk’s Department to obtain information regarding this appointment or go to the link below to print, in duplicate, the Appointment for Voting Proxy form , fill and bring in to the Clerk’s Department with identification.
Please note that the Municipal Office will be open for extended hours during Advance Voting Day to accept Proxy Voting Forms.

Information for Voters
When and how can I make changes to my information on the Voters’ List?
a) That a person’s name be added or removed from the Voters’ List; or
b) That information on the Voters’ List relating to the person be amended.
A person is entitled to vote in a municipal election if on Voting Day (October 22, 2018):
- Is a Canadian citizen
- Is at least 18 years old
- Resides in the local municipality, or is the owner or tenant of land in the local municipality, or the spouse of such a person; and
- Is not prohibited from voting under Section 17(3) of the Municipal Elections Act, 1996 or otherwise by law.
Please bring identification that shows your name and current address. Proof of identity and residence is mandatory as prescribed in O.Reg. 304/13.

2018 Municipal Election Accessibility Plan
The accessibility goal for the 2018 Municipal Election is to ensure the needs of electors and candidates with disabilities continue to be addressed.
Section 12.1(1) of the Municipal Elections Act, 1996, as amended, states: “A Clerk who is responsible for conducting an election shall have regard to the needs of electors and candidates with disabilities”.
Section 12.1(2) of the Municipal Elections Act, 1996, as amended, states: “A Clerk shall prepare a plan regarding the identification, removal and prevention of barriers that affect electors and candidates with disabilities and shall make the plan available to the public before voting day in a regular election”.

Nominations will be accepted from Tuesday, May 1, 2018 during regular office hours until Friday, July 27, 2018 from 9:00 a.m. until 2:00 p.m. for the following offices:
